I just got the news that Sanrio will soon create a North American branch called Sanrio Pictures Entertainment in June.
According to Anime News Network, the studio will create larger scale animation works based on Sanrio characters (such as Hello Kitty and Kero Kero Keroppi). On top of that, they may also make other works from other companies. My take is to support and diversify the branch’s portfolio as well.
So Sanrio fans, maybe we could be expecting some Western-made Sanrio anime, perhaps? What’s your favorite Sanrio characters? I personally like Keroppi. Why? Eh…
