Site News: Hey! What’s going on?

What's been going on and what's to come

Howdy y’all! Recently there have been a few changes and hiccups in the posting schedule and I wanted to take the time to clarify what’s been going on.

As some may know, the site has been mostly run by my partner, Chris, and I for the last year or so. A series of unfortunate events recently has caused some major delays on articles that should have been published weeks ago.

You can skip this paragraph, if you’re not interested in the details: My grandmother passed away, which set things off, and we had to fly home to be near my mother, who wasn’t taking it well. It was an extremely hard time for my family. Also around that time, we covered AnimeFest, flew to California to cover Crunchyroll Expo, I got bronchitis & a sinus infection, and went back to my hometown again for my brother’s wedding. On top of all of this, my depression/anxiety has been rather severe, so this week has been one of the hardest ever for me mentally. Thank you for those who follow our personal accounts, and have reached out to us. It’s really meant a hell of a lot and we appreciate you.

We won’t be doing too much running around the next few weeks, so we will be able to play catch up and get things squared away. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we get back into the swing of things.

Here’s are a few items you can expect from us in the coming weeks:

  • An updated version of the list of anime/Japanese films coming to the United States and Canada theaters (DONE)
  • A few AnimeFest 2019 Cosplay Meetup Photo Galleries
  • AnimeFest 2019 Cosplay Contest Gallery
  • Crunchyroll Expo Cosplay Photos
  • SEVERAL industry guest interviews from both AnimeFest and Crunchyroll Expo (working on getting them transcribed and approved)
  • October 2019 Manga/Light Novel/Book releases (it WILL be out before the end of September. I’ll make sure of it)
  • Fall 2019 Anime First Impressions (this was a hit and our writers had a great time doing it, so we are doing it again!)
  • Where to Watch Fall 2019 Anime
  • Fall 2019 Anime Hashtags

Another important announcement: every year Yatta-Tachi goes on a winter hiatus, and this year, we will be starting it a touch early, beginning November 27th, 2019 and returning January 9th, 2020. The December 2019 & January 2020 manga/light novel/ book releases will still be coming out on schedule. The yearly hiatus gives us a chance to spend more time with our family and work on getting content prepped for the new year. This hiatus is going to be extra special. Chris and I have a few super special things we have been cooking up behind-the-scenes that will be launching in January. I hope you look forward to them!

I will be posting about our hiatus again as we get close to that time, but I wanted to give y’all an opportunity to know now.

As usual, thank you so much for being patient with us and continuing to support Yatta-Tachi. It truly means a lot to everyone who volunteers and puts in the time to make this site happen.

Big thank you to our supporters

From their continous support, we are able to pay our team for their time and hard work on the site.

We have a Thank-You page dedicated to those who help us continue the work that we’ve been doing.
