Weekly Oricon Chart Roundup – week 27


Heya, and welcome to our nommy roundup of the oricon chart! We’ll be showing you some of the most popular new songs in Japan this week.

 

Cha-Cha-Cha チャンピオン –  Sexy Zone
Coming in hot at number one on the singles chart is Cha-Cha-Cha Champion by male idol group Sexy Zone. Released on July 1st, it stormed the charts and might end up being their best-selling single yet.

KIS-MY-WORLD –  Kis-My-Ft2
Over on the album charts, another boy band storms the ranks with a new release. Kis-My-Ft2 released their new album Kis-My-World and it’s selling like hot cakes, selling almost 10 times as many as the number two on the charts.

Angelic Angel/Hello,星を数えて – μ’s/星空凛(飯田里穂)・西木野真姫(Pile)・小泉花陽(久保ユリカ)
Back in the singles chart, number two has been taken by the new Love Live! single, with the song also featuring in the Love Live! The School Idol Movie commercial. Selling almost as many as the number one single, it shows how popular Love Live! is in japan, and with good reason.

 

君を見つけたあの日から僕の想いは一つだけ – Rev.from DVL
Slightly further down the list, on number four, there’s the new single from Idol girl group Rev.from.DVL. Accompanied by a cute music video, it surely brought some happiness to my day.

 

Tell me why 生まれて来た意味を知りたい – Chu-Z
Number eight on the singles chart belongs to Chu-Z this week. The new single from this idol girl group has a strong foundation with the backing music and a bunch of cute, colourful dresses. What’s not to like.

 

夏祭り – ギルド
At number 15 on the album charts there is a new album from Guild, titled Summer festival. Released just before the summer festival season is set to start in Japan, it’s happy-rock sounds might make some festivals a little more lively.

 

パーティ☆キング – C&K
On number 17 on the single charts we come across Party☆King from C&K. It’s an upbeat song with a catchy tune that would surely get people dancing at a party.

 

COME TOGETHER,SING WITH US – TOTALFAT
A totally different style inhabits the 17th spot on the album charts, however. Melodic hardcore band TOTALFAT brings some variety to our round-up with their new album Come Together, Sing With Us.
