Wow, quite a bit for me to comment on this week! To begin with, how typical is it that one I buy the Japanese Blu-ray of Only Yesterday, it’s announced that they are (FINALLY) bringing it here? My luck…As for Steins;Gate, I’m still waiting for it to come in the mail, but hopefully I’ll get a chance to play it soon.

Satoshi Kon is a very interesting story teller, and I’m hoping to see/read more of his works. It’s amazing to think that someone so creative has yet to be as widely recognized as, say, Christopher Nolan. After watching Paprika, I can definitely see the influence it had on Inception (whether intentional or not). Hopefully, interest in his works will continue to grow more outside of Japan. Do you have a favorite work by him?

Finally, I’m excited to play Persona 4: Dancing All Night! I really want to know how much involvement Nanako has in the story. She’s so cute!

Lol. I am curious about Steins;Gate but I will be focusing most of my attention on MGSV right now.

Yeah, Kon is definitely one of my favorite directors and Japanese animator and storyteller of all time. There are very scant news about Chris Nolan saying that he was influenced by Paprika. If you look for them enough, you should find one. It is not as well publicized for whatever reason. I am also skeptical about the validity of the news because I did not see/read Nolan acknowledging it (be it from a video interview or higher-profile magazine/news interview). That said, I am going to say that he really was aware of Paprika at the time of making the movie.

I am waiting for Nanako to get her own Persona in say, five years time. No, this is not canon, merely something I thought would be interesting.
