    “As an introduction to the characters and series as a whole, it’s a very typical affair.”

    That’s pretty much me. Despite the fancy paint job, there’s a pretty bog standard collection of standard parts underneath the hood. I’m in the “wait and see if they break the mold” camp… and so far I see little cause to be optimistic on that front.
