The Springtime of My Life Began With You Vol. 2 Review (Spoiler‑Free)

If you liked The Springtime of My Life Began With You Volume 1, then get ready for even more giggling and doki-doki action in volume 2 of The Springtime of My Life Began With You!

After taking Takasago up on his offer to be his girlfriend, Shiro’s world has really opened up. She’s meeting new people, trying new things, and is finally breaking out of her lonely shell. Even though she knows that their relationship started out because of a prank, Shiro can’t help but realize what a good guy Takasago really is, and her feelings start to bloom for him. But all is fair in love and war, and Shiro has new aspirations of her own.

The Good

This manga is so sweet, it gave me a cavity.

Suehiro does a lot of growing up in this volume, and this little caterpillar is slowly but surely becoming a butterfly. Her heartfelt and honest personality is touching, and seeing her try so hard to change for the better is too precious. Her character development for this volume is great. I loved her interactions with Takasago and Yachiyo, both of whom get some decent progression as well. While nothing crazy happens in the plot, the smooth progression gives a lot of hints at what’s to come, and it’s got me itching for the next volume.

The Bad

It gave me a cavity.

The Verdict

The Springtime of My Life Began With You continues to be a soft and sweet story that’s just right to calm the nerves. With a drop of drama and a splash of humor, this manga is refreshing and really felt like the first few days of spring.
